- Speed. - 12.04.2006 I drive too fast. This is an obvious fact if you have ever been a passenger in my car. I received my first ticket the first week I had my license and they have been coming in pretty steady ever since. My car insurance is ridiculous and has only become more so since I bought the new car. I was told when I bought the Mazda in September that if I was good until September 2007 my insurance would go down quite a bit and my record would be cleared. I got a ticket going 12 over Saturday night. Next Tuesday will be spent in court begging for continued use of my beloved license. For Christmas I am getting a radar detector. Wish me luck.

Fortunately for me, I talked myself out of that ticket 75% of the time. It's been about 4 years since my last ticket or pull over. I learned to put the cruise control on NO MATTER where I am or how fast the speed limit is. If the street is 45, I set it, if it's a school zone at 15, I set it, if it's the freeway at 75, I set it.
