Samantha came Saturday October 15th, 2005 at 12:54 p.m. I'm told that I'm lucky because I only worked for about twenty minutes until I heard her first cry. She was 6lbs 11oz at birth and exactly 20 inches long. My mom got to cut her umbilical cord, which she's still proud of.
I stayed in the hospital until Monday afternoon, and my mom didn't leave once the entire time I spent there. A lot of friends and ward members came to see us. My favorite visitors came on Sunday. Ivan and Becky Earl brought their two year old daughter Alex to meet their brand new daughter. I have never seen two people look so happy to hold a baby. They didn't stay long, but it was really good for me to see them with Samantha. Alex wasn't so sure about her new baby sister at first...
I took Sam home for four days. While she was with us we took about a million pictures, got no sleep at all and spent unbelievable amounts of time staring at her do nothing at all. At three days old we took her to the mall to her her picture taken at Kiddie Kandids. She was perfect the whole time we were there and we got some of the cutest pictures of her.
While we were there a lady walked over to us and asked me how old my daughter was. When I told her she looked at me and asked "Are you crazy?" It made my mom mad, but I just laughed and told her "Probably a little bit."

She is beautiful. I think it was a brilliant idea to take her to Kiddie Kandids.
